How Flyers Listening Part 3 works
Your child sees a set of named pictures on the left of the page and a set of lettered pictures on the right.
They listen to a dialogue that links each named picture to one of the lettered ones.
They write the correct letter next to each named picture.
Some letters are never used — there are more lettered pictures than questions, and the recording plays twice.
Tips to score higher in Part 3
Read the names or labels on the left-hand pictures before the audio starts, so your child knows exactly what to listen for.
Cross out lettered pictures lightly once they are used — each letter is used only once, which narrows the later answers.
The dialogue often mentions a wrong picture before confirming the right one, so teach your child to wait for the full exchange before writing a letter.
Revise the vocabulary sets that suit matching — days, places, activities, objects — so every picture is instantly nameable.

Frequently asked questions
Are there more pictures than questions in Part 3?
Yes. The lettered set on the right contains more pictures than there are questions, so some letters are never used. Children sometimes panic when pictures are left over at the end — reassure them that spare letters are deliberate distractors, not a sign they made a mistake.
What kind of conversations does my child hear in Part 3?
A single dialogue between two speakers, working through the five named items one by one — for example, discussing what happened on each day of a week, or which present belongs to which person. Each exchange links one named picture to one lettered picture.
How is Part 3 different from Listening Part 1?
Part 1 is one big scene where your child draws lines from names to people. Part 3 uses two sets of small pictures and asks for letters instead of lines. Both are matching tasks, but Part 3 leans harder on vocabulary, because every picture on the page must be recognised quickly.
